- When making your reservation
If you are booking a room, you should be sure to make your reservation as far in advance as you can. Don’t wait until the last minute, because you could miss out on booking the room you want or you can end up paying more to secure a room at the last minute. - When you arrive
After a long day of travelling, when you get to your hotel, it is so important that you have your confirmation number and other important information readily available so that your check in can be seamless. You should go straight to the reception desk and check into your accommodation, rather than walk around the lodge taking in all the sights and amenities. - When you get to your room
Once you have checked in properly, and headed to your room, you can get your personal belongings packed away and ready to use when you need to. As for the furniture and everything else in your room, you should make sure that you respect the property and treat it as your own. You should also check if anything is broken or not working, and report it to reception as soon as possible.Throughout your stay, you should make sure that you keep the noise down, and you should also never take anything with you when you eventually check out. Things like shampoo bottles, and soaps, should be left where they are, if you have not used them.
- When in the common areas
Again, you should try to be quiet when walking through the lodge or when using common areas, as you wouldn’t want to disturb guests. If the lodge has a swimming pool, a spa or a gym, you should always carefully follow the rules. - When you check out
Carefully check your bill and make sure that the bill reasonably covers everything that you expected to pay for. If there are any issues, you should never be too shy to query them.
