Christmas is less than a month away and if you are staying in self-catered accommodation in Mbombela, you might be looking for a place where you can enjoy a delicious lunch and not have to worry about doing the preparations or the washing up.
Mbombela is home to plenty of exceptional restaurants and other places to eat, and this year there is much to look forward to in terms of the menus on offer. From elegant high-class meals to the classic buffet, there is something for everyone to indulge in this Christmas. Opting to have a meal prepared for you rather than having to do all the planning and prepping yourself, is a great way to ensure that you and your family can spend Christmas in a more relaxed way.
When you find yourself staying in Mbombela over the festive season, you will have a look to forward to in terms of both the places you can eat and the things that you will get to do. Make sure that you plan your trip well so that you know exactly how to best spend your time when on holiday.
Here’s just a couple of the places you can have your Christmas lunch this year.
- Magnolia Restaurant
It’s in the town of White River and it has a whole lot of personality, Magnolia Restaurant has time and again been considered one of the best places to have a meal in the area. The restaurant has a warm, upmarket feel, making it an extra special place to go for your Christmas lunch. This year, the lunch will be served as a delicious buffet and it is advised that you book a table to avoid disappointment.
- Kingfisher’s Country Kitchen and Traditional Smokehouse
In just a few short years Kingfisher’s has become an incredibly popular place among locals and those from out of town alike. The restaurant sits on the banks of a beautiful stream, close to a popular plant nursery, and it has both indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are in an intimate environment. This year there will be an exceptional menu on offer, and since the restaurant is so close to Mbombela Lodge, it is the perfect place for lunch.
- Kay’s Café
Up in the village of Kaapsehoop, down a dusty track, on a horse farm, is the small and cosy Kay’s Café. With its roaring fire and snug atmosphere, Kay’s is the perfect place for Christmas lunch and this year they are offering a spectacular home cooked menu to a limited number of guests. Prebooking and prepayment is essential, and with the array of fine dining food they have on offer, you won’t regret booking a spot.
- Que’s Café
They aren’t serving Christmas lunch but they are preparing some of the most divine platters for Christmas Eve. Que’s Café is just down the road from Mbombela Lodge and their platters are the perfect option for those who want to avoid the restaurants but who still want to order something rather than cook. Orders will need to be in by the 21st.
